Guide
Yadom (ยาดม) means 'sniffing medicine' in Thai. It is the little tube of menthol and herbs you will see pulled out of a handbag in a Bangkok taxi, on the Skytrain, or at the end of a long shift.
Yadom grew out of Thai herbal tradition, where aromatic plants — lemongrass, camphor, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, peppermint — were burned, steeped or rubbed on the skin long before they were bottled. The modern pocket tube is simply the most portable version of that habit.
It is not a niche wellness product there. It sits next to chewing gum at the counter of every convenience store, and most people carry one without thinking about it.
Menthol and camphor for the cold hit, borneol for depth, and a blend of essential oils for the character of the scent.
Formulas differ by maker. Ours uses fifteen Thai botanicals in four blends — mint, orange, lemongrass and citrus — each built for a different moment of the day.
A blocked nose, stale air-conditioning, traffic fumes, a flight, a headache building behind the eyes.
Also the flat part of an afternoon, when a sharp aroma is the cheapest way to feel awake again.
And after sport, where the same botanicals are rubbed into tight shoulders and calves rather than inhaled.
A sniffer gives you seconds. A roller gives you hours: applied to temples, neck, wrists or sore muscles, the oil keeps working after your hands are back on the wheel.
Browse the rollers or read the full inhaler guide.
Yadom and herbal rollers are cosmetic aromatherapy products. They are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition.
